Terms of use
Last updated: 24 September 2026
The short version
- Traders Ladder records trade calls and checks them against the market. It's not investment advice, and it's not betting.
- Locked calls are public and permanent. You can't edit or delete them.
- You can use Instagram, X or an anonymous nickname. One person, one account.
- If you lose an anonymous secret key, we can't recover the account.
- Fees pay for recording a call. They're not a stake, and nothing is paid out based on results.
Before launch: Traders Ladder isn't live yet. Until it is, only sections 1, 2, 3, 9, 10 and 12 apply, covering the waitlist and nickname reservations. The rest describes how the service will work at launch, and we'll notify you before it takes effect.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Traders Ladder is operated by [Company legal name] ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of the Traders Ladder website and service. By using Traders Ladder you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. Who can use Traders Ladder
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be allowed to use a service like this where you live. It's your responsibility to check your local laws.
- You may not use Traders Ladder if we've previously removed you from it.
3. Accounts
Instagram or X accounts
You can link an Instagram (Business or Creator) or X account. Ownership is confirmed through the platform's official sign-in. Handles claimed on the waitlist are reservations only, and you get the handle only if you prove you own it when you first sign in. You may only link accounts you own or are authorized to operate.
Anonymous accounts
You can instead use a nickname with a secret key generated in your browser. The key is the account. Anyone who has it can act as you, and we can't recover or reset it because we never store it. You're responsible for keeping it safe. We're not liable for anything that happens because a key was lost, shared or stolen.
One person, one account
You may operate only one account that posts calls. Running several accounts to spread bets and show off whichever one did well is prohibited. We may use non-public signals, such as payment details, to detect this, and we may remove every account involved.
Nicknames and handles
Nicknames may not impersonate another person, brand or trading page, or be offensive or misleading. We may reclaim or remove any nickname that breaks this rule.
4. Calls
- Calls are permanent. Once locked, a call can't be edited, withdrawn or deleted, and it stays on your public record.
- The entry price is the market price at the moment you lock the call. Results are decided automatically using the price sources listed on our scoring page.
- You must answer the position question truthfully. Saying you don't hold a position when you do is prohibited.
- You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, permanent licence to store, display and share your calls, their results and your public profile, including in rankings, badges and data feeds.
- If you close your account, we'll remove your personal data as described in the privacy notice. Your calls stay in the historical record and in aggregate statistics, detached from your identity.
5. Not advice, not betting
Traders Ladder records opinions and measures how they turn out. Nothing on Traders Ladder is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. Other traders' calls are their own opinions. We don't check them and don't endorse them. Past accuracy doesn't predict future results. Trading carries a high risk of losing money, and any decision you make is your own.
Traders Ladder is not a betting, gambling or prediction-market service. Fees pay for recording and verifying a call. Nothing is ever paid out based on whether a call was right.
6. Fees
- Recording a call costs [$5], charged when the call is locked. Accounts verified with Instagram or X get their first [10] calls free. Anonymous accounts pay from the first call.
- Fees don't affect your rank.
- Fees aren't refundable once a call is locked, including when a call is voided under our rules (for example, for opposite calls on the same asset). If a call fails because of an error on our side, we'll refund it.
- Where EU consumer law gives you a right of withdrawal, you agree that the service starts immediately when you lock a call, which ends that right for that call.
7. What's not allowed
- Market manipulation: using calls to coordinate pump-and-dumps or to mislead others about an asset.
- Promoting assets you're paid to promote without saying so.
- Operating multiple accounts, or buying, selling or sharing accounts or keys.
- Impersonating another person, trader or brand.
- Scraping, overloading or interfering with the service, or trying to get around its rules or security.
- Using Traders Ladder for anything unlawful.
8. Scoring and corrections
We publish how calls are scored and ranked, and we may improve the method over time. When we change it, we'll announce the change and apply it the same way to everyone. If a result was decided using a clearly wrong price (for example, a data-feed error), we may correct or void it and will show that on the receipt.
9. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove accounts, nicknames or waitlist entries that break these terms, and we'll tell you why where we can. You can stop using Traders Ladder at any time.
10. Our liability
We provide Traders Ladder "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and available but can't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using Traders Ladder after that, you accept the new terms.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [jurisdiction]. If you're a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Questions: [legal@yourdomain].
